TB-500 is a synthetic peptide based on the active region of thymosin beta-4, a protein found in almost every cell and concentrated in wound fluid and platelets.

What it's studied for

Thymosin beta-4 regulates actin, a building block cells use to move. That lets repair cells migrate to an injury and supports new blood-vessel growth in animal studies.
